About me

Education

My name is Alan Martin Revillagigedo Tulais. I’m from Mexico and I studied Computer Systems Engineering at “Instituto Tecnológico de Morelia” in Morelia, Michoacán. I was awarded at college as the best student in my generation (2012-2017), and also, I received the National Award of Excellence in the EGEL exam applied by CENEVAL, obtaining an outstanding result in the four areas that make up the “Software Engineering” exam (September 2017). In the next year, I got a diploma as one of the best engineering students in Mexico, otorged by ANFEI (National Association of Engineering Schools) in Campeche, Campeche (México).

Internships

Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) – Mexico City (Mexico) – Summer of 2015

I participed in the XX Summer of Scientific Research, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Mexico City), supported by Dr. Hanna Oktaba, and directed by our former teacher, Eréndira Jiménez Hernández, in the project called “Alphaspot: Educational video game for teaching a Software Engineering standard called ‘Essence’ “.

We developed (three classmates and me) an educational videogame using the game engine called Unity 3D and AutoDesk 3DS Max for modeling. It consists of 41 levels, each one representing a card of the Software Engineering standard called Essence (created by Ivar Jacobson). We worked together on this for almost two months and released our videogame on three different platforms (Windows, Mac & Android).

At the same time, we were invited to assist and collaborate at the SG Conference & Expo 2015, where we met many amazing developers and learned from their experiences in the industry.

Universidad de Castilla la Mancha (UCLM) – Ciudad Real (Spain) – Summer of 2016

I participated in the XXI Summer of Scientific Research, at the University of Castilla-LaMancha (Ciudad Real, Spain), supported by Dr. Mario Piattini Velthuis, and or former teacher, Eréndira Jiménez Hernández, in the project called “Alphalingo: Mobile application for teaching a software Engineering standard”, and also, another one called “AlphaDecision: Web Platform for certification in Essence alphas”.

Dr. Mario Piattini with Delfin ITM Team at UCLM, in Spain.

We traveled around the globe and learned how to use hybrid technologies (“Ionic Framework” with “Angular”) in order to develop and release these products which contributed to investigations from important and recognized researchers. Our main goal was to use as many of the five senses as we could (just like some language learning applications do) so professionals and students get more interested and engaged in the learning process.
